It’s a beautiful day on the mountain today. Sun is mixed with light clouds and, most importantly, soft turns.
The mountain is skiing great. I stuck to the freshly groomed trails this morning as I’m recouping from two days of chasing powder in Utah. Today was great for getting some soreness out of my knees by taking smooth, gentle corduroy turns from top to bottom. Bumps were not in my cards today. A little exercise, and what better way to kick off the day than skiing!
I hit one of my staple first runs on days like today with no new snow: Vagabond. A fast, perfect pitch bomber to wake up the legs and get some adrenaline running through my body.
After lapping Vagabond on the Thunderhead lift, I shot over to Storm Peak lift to take some runs down the face. There was about an inch of new snow on the top of Mt. Werner, which made the corduroy that much more fresh.
I took a handful of runs on the Storm Peak lift before cruising all the way down Sunset to Moonlight, eventually catching the Elkhead lift, which were some of the best turns of the day.
The snow was great on every run I took this morning, and it might only get better as the temps warm up throughout the day, making the groomers that much softer.
See you on the mountain!
