I have guests who want to book a 2 day private on 26th and 27th March for their family - 5yr, 8yr, Mum and Dad. You always get rave reviews on this forum and I was hoping you'd be free but ski school told me you're already held off for the 27th. Can you please recommend an instructor who you think would work well and have fun with a family of 4 novice skiers (think Dad is better than the other 3 but wants the experience with his family and a few pointers himself too).
Many thanks for your help Laura,
Louise - Simply Ski
Hi there from here! I am starting to think about January again. We'll be there Jan. 14-24 if all goes as planned. Not at that huge house this time. The house was great but the whole MM operation overpromised and in the end we felt it was too much $$$ for just a nice house and a few meals. We'll probably be back at the base but haven't nailed down specifics. I have to book you soon to get the big kahuna discount. We made Gold! Yay! We spent so much it hurt! Yay! I'm just yanking your chain, girlfriend. You are worth every dime.
I'll let you know. See you on facebook. Maybe you should change your profile pic here, too. Ha. Ha.
We are signed up to have teach private lessons to a group of five year olds on Spring Break week, March 18th and 19th. You were referred to us by Tros who we loved having for our older kids and are excited about the private lessons for our little ones.
We have two five year old girls who have ski in group lessons for the past two/three years, one six year old boy who has skied in group lessons and one five year old girl that this will be her first time to ski. All of these kids will be taking two days of group lessons before they come and see you. All of these kids are very active in various sports and are 2nd/3rd children, so they are ready to ski down the big mountain!!! Here are my questions.
1) Any suggestions on getting the most out of our first two days of group lessons. I know last year that we were frustrated with the small slope and limited amount of skiing the kids were able to do. I think they are physically capable of more now but do not want them hanging out on the bottum of the hill getting bored.
2) Do you see any issues with the 5 year old girl being ready for private lessons with you being that this is her first year to ski? My thought is that she will catch up quickly with the others.
I realize alot of this depends on alot of factors but just trying to get your thoughts. Thanks for the time. My email is email@example.com
Great Stuff. Many thanks!. One of the dad's we are travelling with is planning a special- adult only- birthday dinner for his wife. We are all first timers out in SB - so I can't thank you enough for this valuable info!
Just gpes tp show how slow I am on the uptake. When Trudy introduced you as "Laura" on Friday afternoon, it didn't dawn on me until after you had left that you were THAT Laura, on whom she has heaped so much praise over the years.
Enjoyed meeting you and remeeting the others; I will be back on the 31st for my week; do you know of any others on the forum who will be there in that time frame, so we can arrange another forum meet?
Hey, Laura. Getting ready to go. On Friday can you stay a little while for apres ski at Slopeside? Boo and other forum regulars are meeting at 4:30. They would love to meet you in person too. I am going to send Andrew & Matthew back to the house so I can hang out a little while. Arthur is having a massage. Maybe we'll even make it to The Ptarmigan this trip we can send the kids home via the Moving Moutains car at the T-head lift then just ski down to have a relaxed afternoon.
Hi Laura just wanted to say hi and that I am looking foward to seeing you and the gang for drinks in a few weeks and playing in the snow. Hope you and the family had a great Christmas. See ya soon Doug
We were looking thru forums and saw your comment to Ron. We are coming as well - a day later than Ron and Chris. Our daughter and her boyfriend are joining us this year. We can't wait. I'm hoping I'll pick up where I left off as far as skiing. We look forward to getting with ya'll. Hope ya'll had a wonderful Christmas and a great new year.
Doug and Korrina
I could be awkward and say why don't I have you on the 16th and Fredrik on the 18th? As long as you promise to show no mercy, I've got a lot of catching up to do with my gf. Or would it be better to have the same intructor both days? I also need to email the school and see if I can change from group to private. I'm currently living and working in London, have been for several years, but I'm originally from Belfast NI.
Laura, Supposing I can change my lessons from group to private, could I schedule something with either you or your hubby for the 16th and possibly 18th of Feb? This would give me group and private with some days inbetween for self improvement. You can email me on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hey Laura. Hope you're having a great season so far! Looking forward to our trip in January. 9 days on the snow with you... It's a record for us. Let me know which days off you need. We booked you for the whole trip so we wouldn't be shut out by another person but we're truly flexible. I think Sunday, Jan. 18th might be a good day for us to snowmobile or dog sled. That's our 3rd day there. The boys are on with Drew Rissler the 19th-23rd M-F. DO you need anytime that week? We definitely want to ski with you the 16th, 17th and 24th. Let me know.
Noticed the forum was back open and THERE you were! I hope you remember us. You spent some time with Tessa, my wife and Jesse, my daughter last season in March. We'll be back again this year, same time (March 15th-) but for a few more days. I'll be calling the ski school after the new year to, hopefully, book some time with you mostly for Tessa again. She's convinced she's about to "break thru"!
Regards and have a wonderful holiday with your family!
The first snow of the season dusted the Steamboat Ski Resort on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, one week after fall officially arrived. Steamboat is set to open the 2014/15 season on Wednesday, November 26.
