What’s happening in Steamboat this weekend?

Looking for something to do this weekend?  Well, Steamboat is the place for you and this weekend kicks off with a mighty one-two punch in the fight against cancer!  The Inaugural Ski 4 Yellow event, a fundraiser supporting the LIVESTRONG Foundation and Steamboat's 4 Yellow Foundation, is a chance to ski and ride with Olympians and professional athletes on some of the best terrain in North America – right here in Steamboat!  The event starts Friday night with a star-studded gala including special keynote speaker, Dhani Jones, a 10-year NFL star currently with the Cincinnati Bengals and LIVESTRONG Global Envoy.  On Saturday, Ski 4 Yellow hits the slopes as participants ski and ride their way across six peaks and nearly 3,000 acres. It’s such a great cause, so if you’re interested in participating, volunteering, donating or just want more information, visit www.ski4yellow.com.

Of course, a weekend wouldn’t be a weekend without a little live music – now, would it?  The Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series continues this Saturday afternoon with John Popper and the Duskray Troubadours.  Best know as the frontman of Blues Traveler, John Popper and his band will perform right at the gondola at 3pm and will offer a little bit of everything from the boot-scuffing, cow-punk chords and the bottle-passing, back porch grooves to heart-tugging, honey-dipped blues and Memphis soul melodies. So, get out your toe-tappin’ shoes and head on down to the gondola.  The concert’s Free and it starts at 3pm on Saturday!

But, if you’re really into the madness, that is … March Madness, then stop by Chaps located in The Steamboat Grand.  The Sweet Sixteen are playing for survival today leaving the Elite Eight to battle it out Saturday and Sunday.  With 4 large HDTVs and food and drink specials available, Chaps is definitely your headquarters for all the madness!!

From great causes to live music and basketball, Steamboat definitely has something fun for everyone this weekend.  And, if you need a place to crash – check out our packages at The Steamboat Grand!

Enjoy the weekend!
