Twilight Bike Park & Gondola Upload Hours for Riders Participating in Two-Wheel Tuesday Event
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-June 27, 2012-Steamboat Ski Resort will unleash the Power of Twosday when it sponsors the Mountain Village Partnership’s (MVP) first Two-Wheel Tuesday event on July 3rd with extended twilight gondola hours to enjoy the new Steamboat Bike Park and the downhill trails as well as exclusive specials at the Bear River Bar & Grill and Steamboat Bike Shop.
“The new Steamboat Bike Park continues to receive rave reviews and build energy around biking, both downhill and cross-country, at the Steamboat Ski Area,” said Jim Schneider, vice president of skier services for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “Partnering with the MVP on Two-Wheel Tuesday provided an opportunity to show off the Promenade, Burgess Creek, mountain businesses and elevate the energy that is rapidly expanding across the mountain base area from Ski Time Square to One Steamboat Place.”
During this exclusive Two-Wheel Tuesday occasion, the Steamboat Bike Park will offer gondola bike upload access during special twilight hours from 5:30pm to 7:30pm that evening. In addition, a special Bike Access ticket will be available for only $10 and Bike Rentals will run $25 (included bike access). The Two-Wheel Tuesday promotions offer nearly 70% off the regular Bike Access ticket and nearly 65% off the normal Bike Rental rate. Those that purchased Bike Access ticket earlier that day or have Season Bike Access Pass will also have twilight access on Two-Wheel Tuesday.
Downhill riders will be able to devour the dirt on the newly opened Rustler Ridge (opening Saturday, June 30th), as well as Tenderfoot, Buckin’ Bronc, E-Z Rider, Wrangler Gulch and Sitz. Cross-country trails for uphill riders will feature Zig Zag to Valley View and back to the base. In the base area Kids can ride Strider bikes, the no pedal balance bike, which is sweeping the country and making learning to ride as easy as walking. Families can also enjoy playing along the new multi-million-dollar Promenade as well as in the free flowing Burgess Creek.
To power your pedals after the ride, the Bear River Bar & Grill will be serving up 2-for-1 Baja Taco’s and $2 Bud Light drafts along with other food and beverage specials from 5pm-9pm Tuesday evening. The Steamboat Bike Shop will be offering retail specials along with winter hard goods/soft goods at great prices from 40-75% off winter goods from vendors such as Salomon, Volkl, The North Face, Orage, Smartwool, Technica, and more. Get the latest scoop on must have gear and bikes as well as key insights and mechanical tips from bike pro, Rishi Grewal, who has overseen the build of the resort’s new 2012 Specialized downhill bikes and overhauled the entire rental fleet.
“At this time, the ski area’s Two-Wheel Tuesday sponsorship is a one-time event; however, we hope the event is successful, grows in popularity and becomes a more frequent occurrence over the summer,” continued Schneider. “With the addition of the Promenade, the Mountain Village has truly grown into a dynamic and wonderful amenity for the community.”
