Start of another season

As I type this, it is still snowing at my house in Ohio, good vibes for the trip out west. Nothing like the dumps the 'boat has been getting but 6" isn't bad for a good remender to wax the skis.

I will be leaving tomorrow for the drive along I-70 for the next 2-3 days, depending on the weather en route. This will make my 14th season in Steamboat. Season Pass is in the ski bag, all , well almost all, the clothes are packed and just had the car serviced and inspected so all is in readiness.

I did break down and get another new set of boards this year so I am anxious to try them out starting Saturday (or Sunday). Still loving my boots so as long as the linings hold up for another year, I will definitely keep them.

This looks like it is going to be another epic season so I am hoping to beat my previous record of 75 days on the hill. The least I have skied is 50 which gets me down to an equivalent  daily ticket of around $10, seeing as how I get a semi-geezer season pass. Next year it might even get down to $5-$6 a day.
