This morning was a surprisingly good day to carve some turns down Heavenly Daze. The latest dusting of snow and cooler temps has helped create a user-friendly surface. The flat light didn't stop Nelson and I from making some less-than-perfect synchronized turns. The truth is, the skiing was quite good. My skis felt more responsive on the new snow than on some earlier conditions. (I would suggest now's a perfect time for a good tune as I know I need one.)
Some early season conditions can be slick and somewhat intimidating. Fortunate for anyone able to get up and take a few runs this morning, the conditions were quite good. As a few snowflakes dusted our gondola, all the hardware in my knees seem to be sounding the alarm for some snow. Gotta believe.
No matter what we may think, it's still an amazing feeling to enjoy the wind on your face and the snow under your bases, even if it's a little less white than normal.
