During the summer of 2012 the resort introduced its new Steamboat Bike Park to rave reviews. Working in conjunction with legendary trail developers Gravity Logic, the long awaited plan for downhill biking became a reality in the Yampa Valley with five trails including on expert jump trail and a new fleet of mountain bikes specially designed to tackle the new terrain. This summer, the Steamboat Bike Park continues to grow with the completion of Tenderfoot, a beginner downhill trail and Rawhide, an expert trail featuring rolling rock drops and steep, sharp turns.
Formed in the early 1990s, Routt County Riders is dedicated to all things cycling in and around Steamboat Springs, Colorado. RCR is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) Chapter club that continues to grow and represent more variations of biking, including downhill/freeride, year-round commuting, and adaptive cycling across the Yampa Valley.
