RESCHEDULED ROUTT COUNTY RIDERS SPONSORSHIP DAY NOW SET FOR JULY 3

Special $15 Sponsorship Day, Wednesday, July 3rd, Tickets Benefit Trail Maintenance

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO- June 25, 2013-Steamboat’s Sponsorship Day, where 100% of the twilight lift ticket proceeds benefit Routt County Riders trail maintenance projects across Routt County, will take place Wednesday, July 3rd.

Sponsorship Day had originally been scheduled for June 13th, but was postponed due to weather. Similar to Scholarship Day in winter, season bike passes will not be valid from 4-7pm on Sponsorship Day, Wednesday, July 3rd.

The Steamboat Ski Resort will feature specially-priced $15 tickets to enjoy the Steamboat Bike Park or gondola rides on Wednesday, July 3rd from 4pm to 7pm. Weather permitting; the resort anticipates the following trails to be open for Sponsorship Day: Steamboat Bike Park Trails: Rustlers Ridge, E-Z Rider, Wrangler Gulch, Buckin’ Bronc, as well as a portion of Raw Hide and Tenderfoot.  Multi-Use Trails: Zig Zag, Creekside and Valley View. An updated list of open trails is available on the daily trail report from the Information Center.

In addition, the resort will be offering 50% off rental bikes during that time period, including its latest full suspension technology in downhill mountain bikes from Kona and Specialized as well as rental body gear including full-body armor, helmets, gloves and pads. After your ride, enter a drawing for a free Bike Park Pass and other prizes at the Steamboat Bike Shop, savor a great selection of food and drinks from the Umbrella Bar and participate in the fun of the Coca Cola Adventure Zone activities.

During the summer of 2012 the resort introduced its new Steamboat Bike Park to rave reviews. Working in conjunction with legendary trail developers Gravity Logic, the long awaited plan for downhill biking became a reality in the Yampa Valley with five trails including on expert jump trail and a new fleet of mountain bikes specially designed to tackle the new terrain.  This summer, the Steamboat Bike Park continues to grow with the completion of Tenderfoot, a beginner downhill trail and Rawhide, an expert trail featuring rolling rock drops and steep, sharp turns.

Formed in the early 1990s, Routt County Riders is dedicated to all things cycling in and around Steamboat Springs, Colorado. RCR is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) Chapter club that continues to grow and represent more variations of biking, including downhill/freeride, year-round commuting, and adaptive cycling across the Yampa Valley.
