New Year’s Eve is tomorrow!  I can’t believe how fast 2010 has come and almost gone.  I’ve been so busy riding my snowboard on over 170” of that famous Champagne powder™ snow that’s fallen here in Steamboat, I haven’t even given one thought as to how I was going to ring in the New Year – until now.

There are so many options to choose from.  First, there’s the Sprint New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade & Fireworks starting at 7pm.  Members of the Steamboat Ski & Snowboard School parade down the mountain holding torches to light up the night sky.  It’s a great time for everyone and the parade can be viewed from both the base of the mountain or from downtown.  However, my recommendation for the best (and most happening) viewing spot would be to check out the new Bear River Terrace and Umbrella Bar.

Of course, watching all those fireworks is sure to build up your appetite, so how about a delicious dinner to keep you going until Midnight.  The Cabin is offering a special menu just for New Year’s Eve with buffalo ribeye, Vermont quail, chestnut and squash ravioli and so much more!  The Cabin is open for dinner from 5:30pm to 10pm and that Colorado casual cooking would sure hit the spot.  You definitely can’t ring in the New Year on an empty stomach!

Then, there’s the New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance Celebration at The Steamboat Grand.  This is one rockin’ New Year’s Eve celebration.  The doors open for cocktails at 7pm and dinner is served at 8pm.  But that’s just the beginning, the dance party starts at 10pm with a DJ that’s sure to get everyone moving.  Plus, you can attend the entire celebration or just go for the dancing – it’s totally up to you.  I can’t imagine celebrating the New Year with friends and family in any other way.

With so many options to choose from, there’s no reason to sit at home this New Year’s Eve.  So, make your plans now and get those resolutions ready because 2011 is almost here.  But whatever you do, just remember to be safe and have a Happy New Year!
