Men and Women Specific Thursday & Friday Clinics Offered from July 25th to August 30th 


STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-July 22, 2013-We all love to ride and with Steamboat’s new twilight bike clinics, specifically designed for men and women, riding is not only fun, but your skills will improvement through personal coaching and on-hill practice with Steamboat’s innovative Gravity Girls and Bros, Bikes & Berms (B3) programs.


“No matter what level rider you are, everyone can use a lesson to excel,” said John Kohnke, summer activities director. “Think about all the Olympic and world caliber athletes Steamboat has produced. They are at the top of their field, yet they continue to take lessons from their coaches, always striving to learn new tools and achieve new goals. In Steamboat, we can do the same thing for your riding ability through the resort’s new twilight bike clinics.”


Under the direction of professional rider and Steamboat Bike School supervisor, Trevyn Newpher, the resort unveiled two new downhill bike programs specific for men and women on Thursday and Friday evenings utilizing the diverse trails throughout the Steamboat Bike Park. The programs are designed to open the world of downhill mountain biking to new riders as well as assist veteran in reaching new levels.


Gravity Girls: Looking for a fun and non-intimidating way to get into the Steamboat Bike Park with fellow female riders? Steamboat’s Gravity Girls program is just the ticket incorporating the right equipment with proven coaching methods. Everything is taken care of during this twilight women’s-only clinic including downhill mountain bike, lift access, protective equipment, 2-hour coaching/guided session and après-ride drink. Gravity Girls runs Thursday evening from 5-7pm from July 25th through August 29th and costs $69 ($39 coaching only).  In no time, you’ll be riding at the top of your game throughout the Steamboat Bike Park.


B3: Bros, Bikes & Berms: Steamboat’s experienced instructors provide proven progression and techniques to help you reach new heights. B3 includes downhill bike rental, lift access, protective equipment, 2-hour coaching/guided session and après-ride drink for $69 ($39 for coaching only). Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned pro, Bros & Bikes will have you ripping up the trails while delighting in new downhill skills to enjoy the Steamboat Bike Park. This men’s specific program runs every Friday evening from 5-7pm from July 26th through August 30th.


In addition to the new Gravity Girls and B3, the Steamboat Bike School offers a full-line of clinics for all ability levels including Bike Park 101 (8 & up), Bike Park Progression Session (13 & up), Enduro Excursion (13 & up) as well as Private and Semi-Privates (all ages). Steamboat’s Bike School coaches provide tips from bike setup to riding fundamentals to mastering jumps, drops, corners and speed. You’ll be sure to take home skills that not only apply to the Steamboat Bike Park but to all areas of your cycling world. 


During the summer of 2012 the resort introduced its new Steamboat Bike Park to rave reviews. Working in conjunction with legendary trail developers Gravity Logic, the long awaited plan for downhill biking became a reality in the Yampa Valley with five trails including on expert jump trail and a new fleet of mountain bikes specially designed to tackle the new terrain.  This summer, the Steamboat Bike Park continues to grow with the completion of Tenderfoot, a beginner downhill trail and Rawhide, an expert trail featuring rolling rock drops and steep, sharp turns.
