STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-June 26, 2013-Dinner and a movie, music in the mountains and downhill thrills take on an entirely new meaning in Steamboat during summer evenings with the debut of the Coca Cola Movies on the Mountain and Steamboat Mountain Music Series.
“Who doesn’t like being outside in Steamboat, especially during the summer when nights are refreshing, friends gather with abundance and the opportunities are endless” said Rob Perlman, senior vice president of sales & marketing for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “As we head into the second summer of enjoying the improvements across the base area, the mountain village has truly bloomed with life and these new programs will only add to the excitement and benefit the entire community vacation experience.”
Starting at sunset on July 13th and running every Saturday evening through August 31st, families and friends can settle in under the stars in Gondola Square to watch a feature film during the Coca Cola Movies on the Mountain. The following schedule, weather permitting, is planned during the initial year’s program:
July 13 * 9:15pm * Despicable Me (immediately after Balloon Glow)
July 20 * 8:34pm * The Karate Kid (2010 edition)
July 27 * 8:28pm * Snow White and the Huntsman
August 3 * 8:21pm * Oz the Great and Powerful
August 10 * No Movie * See You On The 17th
August 17 * 8:03pm * Back to the Future
August 24 * 7:53pm * The Hunger Games

The evening fun continues with the FREE Steamboat Mountain Music Series on four Friday evenings this summer. Based on the popular summer concert series, these free outdoor music concerts will focus on the more intimate setting of the Steamboat Stage in the heart of Gondola Square starting at 7pm. Enjoy live performances by Missed the Boat on July 19th; Naia Kete on August 2nd; Giving Tree Band on August 23rd; and, Zach Heckendorf on August 30th.
“The new Steamboat Mountain Music Series complements the larger community free summer music series and adds an attractive musical element for the entire Steamboat Springs community,” continued Perlman.
Building upon the success of last year’s program, the resort will double the nights it offers Twilight Biking to include both Thursday and Friday. The program provides evening access via the gondola from 4-7pm for bikers to enjoy the Steamboat Bike Park. In addition to its signature Thursday nights, Sunset Happy Hour, a lively cocktail event with live music, also grows with additional Saturday sessions sprinkled throughout the summer months.
