I woke up this morning to the sound of the snow plow on the road. This is always a good sign that something has fallen from the sky....in a good way. A great way. It was chilly but BEAUTIFUL out there today with about 3" of new snow on the ground. I don't think it will be cold for long but the temperature made way for a soft coating on the slopes this morning.
The top of the gondola was pretty socked in at 8:15 Am when I headed out to play but that did not last long. The sun worked it out and is making its way across the valley. I am not kidding, like a knife cutting into a warm loaf of bread. That is what each turn felt like coming down Heavenly Daze. And did I say how gorgeous it is out there, well I will say it again, it is all white, frosty and sparkly. Maybe it is the Christmas season or just that Monday morning peace but it is a great time of the week to make some turns.
You will need to check your speed a little when you hit Vogue. The top of Sitz is closed as well as a portion of Vogue for some race training. This run is not as soft as the Daze and is a great place to practice using your edges. I highly advise veering to the right on Preview. It was groomed early and before the snow hit. Super soft turns and a nice dusting of powder, that's right powder. A really fun was to end my morning.
Have a great day out there.
