Please don’t tell me summer is almost over. School has started, Labor Day has come and gone and people are already talking about the snow falling. Not so fast!
I am not quite ready to switch gears...I’m much happier to work my way into fall and all it’s greatness.
Steamboat wrapped up it’s summer activities with an exciting weekend. Steamboat Stockdog Challenge displayed the best pooches as they made their way through mazes, jumps and dramatic feats. My dog was embarrassed with his run-of-the- mill paw trick. The Wild West Air Fest buzzed it’s way overhead with planes including a Douglas C-47, 1941 Boeing Stearman and a 1945 Piper J-3 Cub. Helicopter rides were also an option for those interested in a scenic view of the local area. Friday Night’s Art Walk was picture perfect with local business and galleries displaying local artists. Finally, four days of road bike racing wrapped up with a downtown criterium challenging athletes from all over the states.
What an amazing summer it has been. I enjoyed activities and adventures that after 16 years I had yet to experience. There will be more, I know.
Fall is soon to be here and I am looking forward to enjoying the cooler nights and the colors of the changing aspens. We’ll be seeing the fluffy white stuff soon enough! Until then, I’ll enjoy a few more rides on my bike and evenings on the porch.
