For me, early season is always a great time to work on my turns. I find myself getting rusty over the summer and the first few weeks are a great time to work the kinks out. As the snow start to fall and conditions turn to powder, edging and carving become less important and the focus turns more to balance and stance. While all of these elements are very important to create "the perfect turn", it is nice to get back to the basics and start fresh.

With storm clouds looming on the horizon and a warm gentle breeze blowing, the snow remained soft and forgiving this morning as I made my way down Heavenly Daze. I experienced similar conditions on Vogue and had a blast ripping short swing turns on the quiet slopes. The snow was in great shape and conditions should remain the same throughout the day.

Looking to improve your skiing this year, try taking a private lesson. Spending time  with one of the country's best ski or snowboard instructors can greatly improve your skills. Early season is a great time to book one, they can help make your ski season more enjoyable  and give you valuable pointers to help improve your performance.

Have a great day on the slopes, work on your turns and continue the quest for the perfect turn!

Think snow, it's coming.
