STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-March 1, 2012-Incredible Colorado bluebird sunny days, hilarious and fun events, along with a boatload of Champagne Powder® snow (7.5+ feet this past February) mean that spring will shine a whole lot brighter in Steamboat-Ski Town, U.S.A.® this April as the resort launches its $99 Springalicious™ Pass.

“More than ever guests are looking for the best bang for their buck when it comes to vacation values; and we are constantly striving to find ways to make Steamboat accessible to all winter enthusiasts,” says Rob Perlman, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “The Springalicious Pass is an affordable way for guests to enjoy some of the best conditions in Colorado and be a part of the most unique springtime bash in the Rockies.”

The Springalicious Pass is an out-of-this-world 4-day photo pass for any four days from April 7th till Closing Day, April 15th for just $99. The pass is non-transferable, non-refundable and valid only for the pass holder. In addition, passes may only be purchased online at, 24-hours prior to the first day of use. The Steamboat Ski Area closes the 2011/12 season on Sunday, April 15th.

“Steamboat has always been known for its legendary Champagne Powder® snow, perfectly placed trees and friendly western heritage, but people sometimes forget that nobody knows how to throw a party like the Boat,” continued Perlman. “This innovative pass, complemented by a variety of specials in April, allows guests to check their cares at the door and enjoy time with friends and family, without stressing about their wallets.”

During the month of February, snow has blanketed the slopes 17 out of 29 days with 13 of those days recording four or more inches of snow. The cumulative snowfall for the month comes in at 7.75 feet at mid-mtn, and over 9 feet (or 108.75 inches) piling up at the summit.  Since the New Year, 11 feet of Champagne Powder snow has collected at mid-mtn and more than 12 feet at the summit.

Steamboat also plans to put a spring in your step during March and April featuring a boatload of free music, special values and unique Springalicious events like Cardboard Classic and the Splashdown Pond Skim. Live music is a constant staple of Ski Town, U.S.A. and this season will be no exception with several FREE shows in Gondola Square as part of the Bud Light Rocks the Boat Concert Series. In March, see Band of Heathens (3/10), See-I (3/17), ALO (3/24) and New Monsoon (3/31).  Then in April, Steamboat will rock with two more FREE shows by Keller Williams on Saturday, April 7th, and a blow-out end-of-season double header show on Sunday, April 15th by Toots and The Maytals; followed by J.J. Grey & Mofro.

The Cardboard Classic, Steamboat’s traditional rite of spring, and the Splashdown Pond Skim competition act as cornerstone events for Springalicious. The Cardboard Classic celebrates its 32nd year on Saturday, April 14th, featuring homemade cardboard crafts racing to a hysterical finish. Steamboat’s bravest (and maybe craziest) liquid powderhounds will attempt to cross an ice-cold pond at the base of the mountain during the 5th Splashdown Pond Skim on Sunday, April 15th. Springalicious is presented by Bud Light, Coca-Cola, SmartWool and Sprint.

Plan now, because with only six weeks to go, the 2011/2012 season will come to a close before you know it. Contact Steamboat Central Reservations® at or 800-922-2722 to experience everything Steamboat has to offer during March and April.
