"In like a lamb, out like a Lion." The old adage rings true again as something closes in on Steamboat today, this last day of March!
I like to ride up Four Points first because it gives me a good idea of what's going on with the day's conditions without committing to a trip to the top of the mountain. Today, I could see the wind was picking up at higher elevations, so…

If you are about to embark on your spring break in Steamboat you should be smiling. Even if you missed Saturday's powder (I did too) the snow here is in sweet shape for the last 14 days of the season. I think we will go out in style!

The sun is already burning off a thin layer of clouds and I think we are in for a sunny day of spring skiing. Although I was bummed to have missed the freshies over the weekend, I was delighted to find nice and…

It's one of those magical days in Steamboat. Yesterday, we received over 6 inches of snow. Today, we have blue bird skies, soft bumps and super fast groomers. It's perfect.
Vagabond was fast and soft down to the bumps of Surprise. A few quick turns down Surprise and then up to an incredible view at the top of Storm Peak. The groomed portion of the face was perfect, while the skier's left side had perfect bumps that were…

Riding up the Four Points Lift, I noticed the whiteboard at the top, the statement said it all, "SNOW! AGAIN!" What an unbelievable day up on the mountain. The snow has returned to Steamboat, and what better way to celebrate the return of our good friend, then to get out on the mountain and hit up some freshies.
My runs today were quite a bit different than the usual groomers I've been skiing the last couple of weeks. The snow just seems to bring that out in me. I started out…

You know it's going to be a good weekend when it all starts with some fresh snow. I always wake up a little easier when the snow report says there are freshies waiting and still snowing.
Conditions today were definitely better than expected. The groomers are all skiing great with a few inches of fluff on top of perfect corduroy. I almost forgot if it was winter or…

Today was what I expected from a Thursday morning in late March including one added bonus - I got to ski with some really good people. The sun was out with not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature outside was great. It's only going to warm up as the day moves along, and the snow will soften.
The conditions outside kept me from venturing off the groomers, but I had a blast cruising down High Noon, One O Clock and Heavenly Daze. The runs were great. I had an amazing time…

This spring is turning out to be a season of variety - variety in ski gear, at least. We go from skiing in t-shirts to pulling out the puffy down all in the same week. The storm that blew in Tuesday brought us a short break in our bluebird skies, but the sky is clearing and should stay sunny for the next couple of days.
Another common spring element is wind, which was…

In case you didn't know...it's SNOWING here in Steamboat! After some Spring weather for the last week or so (warm days, cold nights) it is a very welcome change, and I hope everyone gets to enjoy it. Only 20 more days left to ski/ride this season.

The amazing skills of our grooming crew, the warmer temperatures last night, and the fresh snow…

You know it's spring when the rubber duckies are spotted at the bottom of Sundown Express lift. I wasn't quick enough to get that photo, yet I do have a few shots to give you the panoramic view of this bluebird day. Speaking of bluebirds, I've seen a few out and about on the mountain, spring is here!

High Noon is not just for getting to Rendezvous for lunch. I highly recommend this run for your warm up on these spring mornings. High Noon gets…

It's a blue bird Spring day at the 'boat. The birds are out chirping, ski runs are freshly groomed and the sun is shinning down on us. The temperature is cold now, but things will warm up by lunch time. Talking about lunch- the Four Points Hut looks to be the spot today. You'll experience panoramic views from the Flat Tops over to Buffalo Pass. Grab a burger and soak in a few rays.

Many of us like to ski the afternoon…

I'm not sure how to describe this morning's conditions for you. 'Changeable' is probably the best term.

On the one hand it is gorgesouly sunny, there is no wind, it's uncrowded, there are some great stretches of groom, and even some spots where there is a blanket of creamy snow topping the groom. That's upper Buddy's Run above, which was skiing really nicely after the few inches of new snow we received by yesterday morning.…

We're experiencing high winds, which means all lifts at the resort are closed until weather conditions permit. All Ski and Snowboard School lessons have been cancelled for today, but childcare and Kids' Vacation Center are operating indoors.
We want to keep you informed about the mountain's status. The best way to get updates is to follow us on Twitter at @SteamboatInfo or @SkiSteamboat.If you have questions concerning lift tickets, please contact the Main Ticket Office at…

Erin go bragh and Happy St. Patrick's to ya! And it will be quite a day as the highs are forecast to near 50 degrees! It will follow yesterday's superb conditions - but could be even nicer! Did somebody say 'corn'?!
This morning's challenges were to stay away from snow which had gotten soft yesterday, since that would mean it would be frozen this morning. I thought Rudi's was nice and soft, but runs like Sundset and Rainbow…

Good morning! Looks like it's going to be a beautiful spring day here in Steamboat...brilliant blue skies and plenty of sunshine. Spring Break is in full effect here at the resort, with plenty of skiing/riding, as well as activities for the kids at the base of the gondola.

Did a little bit of everything today. The groomers were riding smooth and fast today, as is typical when the weather is warm during the day and then gets a bit…

Waking up, still dragging a bit from the time change, we gazed up at a cloud hiding the ski area. However, clouds can play tricks on you for just a short lift ride up a bluebird sky awaits!

Here's are a couple photos just to show you that you cannot always make the call on the weather from your window. It may look cloudy from the condo, yet up above 9,000 feet we are basking in the glory of Colorado's famous blue sky!…

Happy Saturday everyone. I hope your weekend is going as well as mine here in Steamboat. After the late week Champagne delivery we are experiencing a beautiful "little bit of everything" Spring day.

The morning started cool and so I headed to the shadier part of the mountain today which still has fantastic winter-style snow. Storm Peak Face (below), Rainbow (above), Cyclone, Drop Out: all were great. There…

Today is another perfect blue bird day here in the Boat. With the fresh snow that we received yesterday, the groomers were in great condition this morning. The perfect lines of corduroy are everywhere on the mountain, and it was hard to decide where to get the day started as I stood at the top of the Gondola looking out on everything Steamboat has to offer. I started on upper mountain with Storm Face and Rainbow and working my way…
