Skiing is so much fun. With opening weekend under our belts, it is officially a new season and with that comes a new assortment of toys and the skis are ready to run. I had a blast this morning exploring a very quiet resort. The surface of the snow was fantastic. I hit all groomers today anticipating a smooth surface and I was not wrong. Creamy carvy runs were all that I found out on the hill this morning.

Opening Day 2013-2014 and it is a good one! Steamboat has had over 80" of snow since October 1st and the mountain is in fantastic shape. As a walked up to Gondola Square this morning, everybody I encountered wore beaming grins and had that particular glow that is usually only seen on the deepest of powder days.
