First Snow Accumulation Bolsters Mountain Crews To Begin Building Snow Base
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-October 27, 2011- Mother Nature paid her first extended visit to Steamboat beginning on Tuesday, with a storm that brought snow accumulation and temperatures prime for beginning to build the resort’s winter base. Take a look at what I woke up to this morning …
Isn’t that just amazing! With summer and fall being such gorgeous times to be in Steamboat and Routt County, it’s tough this time of year knowing that winter is soon to follow. But seeing all the snow this morning was just the reminder I needed on why…

Here is week 2 of our countdown to winter, and what better motivator to get your body in shape for the season than new snow. Steamboat reported 5" at mid-mountain this morning and snow flurries are possible throughout the remainder of the day. The weather has changed and winter is fast approaching! Are you ready to rip?
I've always noticed that the first few days of skiing really kill my legs! Why is that? I have trained most my life for this and it still hurts! What gives?
Simple, skiing uses muscles and movements that are pretty hard to train without actually skiing. There is hope though...try to incorporate skiing/snowboarding specific moves into your workout routine and it will minimize that initial burnout.…
