Snow in the next week?

So...anyone think there is more snow coming....soon? The forecast out to Saturday doesn't look too hopeful, and we are ready to ski from 3 December. Hope some of the trails will be ready for us too!

kids ski lesson times and family skiiing

You put that perfectly! It's not so much a half day so we can teach them anything, it's time to noodle around the mountain together, that's all! Good to know the teaching programmes are great though.

HI, There was probably 18 inches of fresh snow at the top today and the cover in the snowmaking areas is good. It should be possible to ski from the gondola by this weekend. Andy

No group 1/2 day morning lessons are offered for adults or kids. As a family you can take a morning private clinic; expensive for one person but not so much more instead of dailies for 4 people. Adults can take 1/2 day group classes but in the after…

I agree wholeheartedly!!!! We like to have our grand kids in ski-school, but also ski as a family for part of each day and let them proudly show us what they can do now. One hour at the end of the day when they are tired is not enough. My oldest gra…

I know you seem to have locked into the morning lesson/afternoon with parents, but the afternoon 1/2 day privates (2.5 or 3 hours) are a bit cheaper since the resort has them at a discount right now (25% off).

An idea for you or anyone else out there as yes we too have the exchange rate to deal with which also makes multiple private lessons rather steep but don't want to farm kids out for whole day if possible!! We are out there and able to ski from tues…

Yes- it's tricky! You are quite right, it's nice to spend time with the kids doing something together, as we are past that 'young kid' stage. None of us will make the olympic ski team, but we can all cruise the blue runs together. Other ski areas se…

Hi! I'm in agreement with you on this one as I am in exactly the same quandry! I too had expected to find a 3hr group lesson for our boys for the mornings so that we could have lunch together and then ski together in the afternoons...I think that we…

Possibly the quietest week of the year - certainly one of them. The only potential disadvantage is what Marlene pointed out. Depending on number of visitors actually in town and the amount of snow we have, only part of the mountain may be open - th…

It's pretty quiet that time of the year. Most people book their vacations for Christmas week and thereafter. In terms of crowds you picked a great week however historically speaking the entire mountain may not be open at that time. It really depends…

We' re heading to steamboat 3 Dec for seven days - how busy is the mountain then? I realise it's quieter than Christmas, but would still like an idea if possible!

Hi - Group lessons are by far the best value and social children will usually enjoy them more than a private lesson. If you plan on visiting during one of the peak periods however, it is important to remember that group sizes will increase resulting…

You can book 3 hour private lessons for morning or afternoon and 5 hour private lessons from 10am to 3pm. The adult 1/2 day group lesson as Trudeska said is available as she described. For further details or any updated changes during your dates you…

If you are 50+ you could join up with the free Over the Hill Gang ski along program. They ski blues and groomed blacks and if their are some who want to handle some bumps and trees, you can do that as well. The Gang meets near the Chuck Wagon in Gon…

Hey Andrew, Thank you for the tip, in the right direction. Most of the time on family ski vacations, without my ski buddies on the scene I always end up skiing alone, which means I ski very lazy at times.....I have always loved skiing with a pack,so…

Hey Laura, Thank you for the real world advice on kids with poles......The more i think about it, you are 100% correct about their stance being hard to fix, after picking up bad pole habits. The more I think about it,the only time I saw some kids the…

Thanks so much for your interest in our products. The mens club program was designed with the all conditions all terrain idea in mind and in my experience they tend to ski quite a bit off piste. I think a better way for you to go if you want to go o…

What a wonderful time in Steamboat: the conditions last week may not have been up to Steamboat standards, but they were awesome to me:   I haven't skied in at least 5 years, 7 years since I was last at the boat: Day 1...nice groom runs to get my leg…

Matt does rock (and Dave does too). My 4 year old was doing bumps, blue blacks, and glades after these 2 great instructors ran him and a couple of other rowdy boys all over the mountain. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
