Hey Rick,
I'd forgotten about the lack of LMP's so I rang ski school. Apparently the tickets that come with the LTS package are one 'Preview Only' ticket for Day 1 and then two full 'all mountain' passes for the other two days.

I can't say 100% cos I've never done the package personally but I would imagine that if you're in a group, you'd have to stay basically with the group - the Ski School are tasked with your care during lessons and it may cause liability issues for ...
I think the two places offering the ultimate in convenience (without navigating steps and stairs) would be Steamboat Ski and Sport in the Sheraton and Fleischer Sport in OSP.
Not sure how Steamboat Ski and Sport works in terms of whether you're g...
New one for this year is Fleischer Sports (Owned and operated by Chad Fleischer, ex olympian) and if you rent from them, you get free overnight storage.
I believe it's going to be exceptionally good equipment (all new for this year) and apparentl...
Definitely use a helmet - yes lots of people use them and it's close to being mandatory for Instructors from my understanding and other posts on this forum.
My brothers took the 3 day LTR program a couple of years ago and whilst it obviously work...
I think the membership count and activity will explode here in the near future as more people find out that the forum (my.steamboat) is up and running. I also like the new photo and video additions. Have a great year.
Yes, we will be, early January this time... We would have loved to have come back late January/early February again (like last year), but other commitments mean that we need to get back to the UK before that.
Thanks for the kind comments, I have put some more on, keep on skiing.
Expecting heavy snow here, but more likely rain/sleet off to see James Bond now.
Nice to read that you have been kept busy, looking at the webcam I thought perhaps Steamboat was getting a few punters onto the slopes, all in all considering the financial climate it looks as if people still want to ski and holiday, not sure what the UK input is to the local economy as the travel supplements still harp on about the poor exchange rate, mind you we only got $1.45 approx back on our first visit in 2000. In our company (small) 4 of us are off skiing this year, 3 to Europe and us guess where, the exchange rate never came into it for any of us.
Our long cold spell is coming to an end now and its back to wind and rain by Sunday, we did get down to -9 one night.
i think we are going to the Sheraton for the Christmas buffet. Others have suggested the Ore House, Cafe Diva alos. Yes book ahead of time. thats what i will be doing next week.
Usually kids don't want to wear the hood thing, but carry it in your pocket just in case. If it's really cold once you get on there on the slopes, I'll bet you big money that'll change.
Temps have been great for snowmaking and we definitely have more snow this year than we had last year. I wouldn't worry, we tend to get dumped on in December.
Here's a good article about late starts and how the season turns out.
I have been checking the cameras lately, and there does not appear to be alot of snow on the mountain, and not much in the forecast?
Getting nervous about our trip out December 18th. Anything to worry about?
I agree with the balaclava. If your boys are going to wear helmets, which they should, then you can buy a nice under helmet hat/balaclava, a must in Steamboat. The key to keeping warm on the mountain is layers. (and toe warmers!)
I ski with my boys every January in Steamboat (now 10 & 8) and they wear the whole kit every day since they stay up top most the whole day ... base layer top and bottom, fleece top (& bottom if it's Arctic cold), and down jacket. They used to wear...
