Nigel and Mount Werner connect. felt like I was flying not skiing.

been here since the 21st of december now,  taking the boys and lexy home soon and we have had a good few days skiing,  the daughter has been so ill at the start of the hols and then both Sian and I went down with the same thing, dragging our selves up the mountain for odd days here and there, theres going to be lots of unused days on our 14 of 16 days ticket.. still the time we have spent on the mountain has been fantastic and apart from one  bad experience with Lexy in ski school, she has…

snow for once is not what we want

we have both been loving the snow England has been fortunate to have been landed with over recent weeks however it has all of a sudden become an issue, we are scheduled to fly out this Tuesday from Heathrow, UKs bsuiest, currently thats an airport that is closed and by tomorrow may be running at half capacity, we hope by Tuesday full capacity but with one hell of a back log to clear,  however, having just checked the BBC weather page it looks likely to have another snow storm hit it on…

That picture was taken at Stowe, VT. We will be coming to Steamboat over Christmas week, and this will be my first time skiing Steamboat. We can't wait, I'm reading everything I can find on avoiding any of the liftlines and how to ski the mountain. I am not relation edto Doug Sherer, my last name is Schere.r

Hi guys,

Well, we arrived today. Not as much snow as I'd hoped but hopefully enough on the mountain.

Will let you know.

Partner (Baz) has just dished up dinner, which was a joint effort I should add (he did the pasta), so best get offline!!

Sarah.

Hi to you both,

Thanks for friend invite, loving your pictures of the 'boat. You may have read some of my postings, I'm off there this year, 1st time in a long long time, too long, but needed to find the right person to share what I call my piece of paradise.
I've kept it secret from most of the people I've met.
Now I've found the right partner, I can't wait to help him fall in love with the place, the way I do.
Will you be out there again this year?

Westie (aka Sarah)

Hi Sian! I did not really expect to hear back from you, I had planned to ask Cara how to contact you. I once looked for info on your farm in England as I have a friend Darlene who is a horse trainer outside of Ottawa; was suggesting that she get a small farm and protect horses and such which she is dedicated to and loves dogs too! I find it curious that you and Sian are in similar occupations. It is fun to drop onto facebook and see what your Mum (who writes to me) and Cara are up to in NY. But I have not seen you on Cara's page I don't think. Hazel wrote to me one year after your Grandma Winnie passed away. I miss her quite a lot and the times we had together. My children are all doing well and Heather has recently announced she will be a mother in October; she was married in 2006. That is very exciting for me. She does water skiing as well as snow. my email is bonitaashford@yahoo.ca if you would like to keep in touch! your Aunt (I hope still), Bonnie

From Craig- he posted it on my wall by accident ;)

Its a lot like stand up skiing. My outriggers are my poles. If i turn my head and my outrigger in the direction i want to go then the rig and ski follow. Not much different than learning to ride a bike and learning balance. And yes i do ski the entire hill although i much prefer powder days to all others. I actually broke my back skiing here in Steamboat in 1996 and couldn;t wait to get back on the slopes. I guess it;s kind of a sense of conquering that which tried to kill you!
