Torchlight Parades & Fireworks at Steamboat Ski Area

2011/12 Season over for us

Now back in Lagos after 4 weeks in Steamboat. Arrived to pretty good snow but all frontside groomer type skiing for first few days and we were prepared for this to last all vacation. Then came the snow! Had a full 7 days on our powder boards and another 10 on the midfats before back to carving skis for last week spent in the spring sun. Absolutely wonderful and back in the summer for golf and biking.

Almost There!

Burns Night Ball last night, Immortal Memory speech went down well, seat selections made on the flights and only one weekend left in Lagos before we head out for 4 weeks of skiing in Steamboat.Looking forward to getting out of West Africa for a while.…

Advance Party

Going to be an unusual Christmas and New Year for us as youngest son has decided on joining his brother in Steamboat and going skiing rather than updating his Yellow Fever certificate and joining us in Lagos. First time we will have Christmas on our own but if we had the choice we would be in Steamboat too.

We have commitments here in late January and early February (Lagos Caledonian Society Burns Night Ball and as immediate past Chieftain I need to be there) and Ladies Captain's Day…

Summer Over

Back in UK watching the rain fall after two great weeks in the 'boat. House re-painted, kitchen redesigned (being installed now) and garden prepared for winter. Enjoyed the golf and some biking, saw the pro road racing and a couple of day trips away.



Back to Nigeria on Sunday and no break till we get skiing in mid Feb for 4 weeks. At least we should be returning to the beginning of the dry season. So the tans should get topped up and after so long in the tropics we are used to the… Continue

We live here ful time after making the move 4 yrs ago from our ranch in Oklahoma.  Purchased a home in town and discovered we were not "city folk" so purchased a 35 acre place with a Montana Log home in the country by the Sleeping Giant and rented our home in town.  Now we have our horses and a few steers and pretend to be ranchers.  It was a full time business for us before we moved here.
