This was my last ski day today. I started out wishing it was not so cold, but found it to be a blessing in disguise. It started out super cold this morning at tne base--something like 29 below zero. However, I had my final lesson booked and braved the cold. When my instructor and I went up the gondola at 9am, there was nobody else boarding except patrollers. However once we reached the top, it was clear that a temperature inversion was in effect and it was actually quite nice-- certainly not…

Today was extremly cold-- below zero at times especially with the wind chill. The snow was also very sticky.
I had another full day private lesson. We started over at Sunshine Peak, but halfway up the Sundown Express it got pretty windy. At the top the snow was windblown and variable--groomed showing through in spots and 6 inches of powder in others. The suns started to go in around 11:30, but it reappeared by about 12:30, so that was nice. by then everything had softened up nicely and skied well. I decided to demo some skis after lunch and took out the…

I'm back for my annual trip. Got in late Friday night so today was my first ski day on the mountain. It started off a little chilly- esp at the base, but due to the temperature inversion was warmer up top.
Some of the groomers started off a little scratchy this morning, so I made my way over to Sunshine peak and did some runs on Flintlock, Tomahawk and Quickdraw before heading into Morningside. The trees in parts of Morningside still had that gorgeous heavy coating of snow on them.…
