Thanks for the replies.

See Ya is the more narrow part of the run to Skier's Left. I second Cyclone and Ted's Ridge, two of my favorites. Cheers

Cyclone or any of the lower storm runs when groomed. Ted's Ridge, Upper Valley View, Middle Rib, 3 o'clock. (check the grooming report)

I just graduated to some black runs this last trip and loved the thrill and challenge. I started with Westside for a few times and then a groomed Rolex and fresh powder on See Me/See Ya. The latter two confuse me as the sign only indicates See Me ...

My favorite runs are Rolex and See Me when groomed or new powder but I have less experience with the mountain than probably most here.I like Tomahawk for a blue run when it is groomed and fast but avoid it after a heavy snow-you will slog more tha...

Springtime Skiing!!!!!!!! (with question)

Just returned from a week trip to Steamboat that posted 49" of snow at summit-so this is spring skiing! We had a fun week and met some interesting people which makes this a speial destination. And what wonderful powder we experienced during the trip. I skied some black runs for the first time, starting with Westside several times and then Rolex and See Me/See Ya-all groomed or after new powder. Does anyone have suggestion for other black runs for next season?

Hello from Fort Worth

While I'm watching my grass grow after fertilizing and recent rain, my mind is on my upcoming trip to Steamboat for my first ever Spring skiing. I have had the good fortune to make three previous trips this season to Steamboat and can't wait to get back for the fourth. You can't get too much of this can you? There is so much about this place that we love starting with all the wonderful people who live, work and play in Steamboat. Thanks to all of you for making this such a special place to come… Continue

Fantastic Week

Just returned from a week at Steamboat and what a great time it was. The weather ran the gamut, but the two days of snow followed by a cold and sunny Saturday, which was our last ski day, were fantastic. This is just our second season at Steamboat, but look forward to many more. My wife got me out here as a beginner last year and I'm hooked. With lessons and fortitude I'm now skiing blues across the mountain and love discovering all Steamboat has to offer and its various challenges. I have met s… Continue

Second Snow Day!! (plus a question)

Snow started around 4:30 AM and the temp at the top of the mountain read 4 degrees. Great powder that in places was to the top of my boots, which was a first for me. The snow hung around for a good part of the day and I didn't see the sunshine until I was at the bottom of the mountain in the afternoon. When I got to the base I couldn't hardly stand I was so exhausted, I just had to make one more run in the powder. What a great day and we have one more to go before its time to head home.
Now I ha… Continue

Usually kids don't want to wear the hood thing, but carry it in your pocket just in case. If it's really cold once you get on there on the slopes, I'll bet you big money that'll change.

Hard to predict of course but history is on your side. Be glad you didn't plan a trip around opening day at Vail today. They've got only one run open.

Temps have been great for snowmaking and we definitely have more snow this year than we had last year. I wouldn't worry, we tend to get dumped on in December. Here's a good article about late starts and how the season turns out.

I have been checking the cameras lately, and there does not appear to be alot of snow on the mountain, and not much in the forecast? Getting nervous about our trip out December 18th. Anything to worry about?
