Hi Simply Ski, I am a UK transplant as well, now living in Colorado. There really is no true Christmas dinner equivalent that we have come across in Colorado. Thanksgiving dinner is the closest we have found both in friends homes and eating out. W...
I am a UK transplant, lived in Colorado for 9 years and counting. We have lots of friends come out from the UK to ski & ride with us. They might gripe about a few things when comparing skiing/riding in Europe to the US, but its NEVER the snow :)
We will be there next week as a matter of fact. Jan. 15-25. Abi is riding with my brother in law from Munich all week so she's booked tight for a while. I'll be on the mountain on the 17th with my boys in our first ever all-family ski day. Previously, we've kept them in the school or just taken one at a time out. This time we'll be with Laura Sjoblom again, one of Abi's instructor friends, just to keep things safer for my daredevil kids. They've seen too many X-games I am afraid. If you are around the 16th-25th I'd love to meet up again. But this time on purpose!
So let's keep in touch via this site. We'll be with Laura both the 17th and 24th all day with our boys. The 18th we're taking the day to go snowmobiling/tubing/nothing, but might ski a bit first thing in the morning. My kids will start a 5 day clinic on the 19th while my husband and I continue our week with Laura. We flexible.
Would you be able to meet up with Boo and other forums regs on the 16th? We'll be at Slopeside at 4:30. Boo's last day skiing is the 17th so this is the best time to catch everyone together. Would love it if you can make it. If not, I'll see you another time during out stay.
I didn't see you in the trees but I did see you screaming down Tomahawk - you looked awesome... How does this My Steamboat work? How do you meet people to be friends with?
