Marmot Partnership Brings New Downtown Concept Store, Employee Uniforms
Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. will partner with Marmot on a new downtown branded concept store and unveil the first wave of new employee uniforms this year.
“Steamboat works with some of the finest companies in the outdoor industry, and we’re proud to partner with Marmot, an innovator in the outdoor landscape,” said Rob Perlman, president and chief operating officer for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. “For more than four decades, both companies have shared their love of the outdoors with adventurers, and we see this partnership elevating the authentic, genuine spirit these two Colorado companies cherish.”
Located on the corner of Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue in the Howelsen Place building, the new 1,800-square-foot branded retail space will focus extensively on outerwear, apparel and accessories from the award-winning, high-performance company. The new space builds on the popularity of Marmot products across resort outlets and showcases a comprehensive outdoor experience in this new downtown location. The Marmot Steamboat store, which joins a select group of flagship locations across legendary mountain communities, is targeted to open in August.
“We are honored to be a part of historic downtown through the resort’s original location — Steamboat Apparel & Gifts, now going on six years in business — and feel the new Marmot Steamboat store will enhance and complement the fantastic year-round shopping experience,” said Jim Schneider, vice president of skier services for Steamboat.
Function and fashion go hand in hand this winter as Steamboat employees sport new uniforms as part of the new Marmot partnership. With a commitment to producing the highest quality performance product available, Marmot currently works with only one other ski resort in the world designing uniforms for mountain employees.
Steamboat’s SnowSports School, terrain parks, retail/rental and senior management team will put the new outdoor gear to the test for the 2016/17 winter season. Over subsequent seasons, additional mountain departments will transition to the new Marmot uniform program.
“We are excited to be partnering with Steamboat Ski Resort as well as becoming a part of the Steamboat Springs community,” said Mark Martin, president of Marmot Mountain, LLC. “We look forward to showcasing Marmot’s time-tested technical apparel, equipment and accessories both on and off the mountain this winter.”
Marmot is an award-winning, globally distributed brand of high-performance, technical clothing, apparel and equipment. Since 1974, Marmot products have been worn by climbers, skiers, mountaineers and adventurers worldwide. Marmot works with professional mountain guides, world-class athletes and expeditions by pushing the limits of product innovation and technology while pioneering what is possible in the most extreme environments on Earth.
