STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-June 2, 2015-Ski industry veteran and Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation executive Jim Snyder has been promoted to senior vice president of Food & Beverage for Intrawest. In addition to his new responsibilities, Snyder will continue to serve in his current capacity as vice president of resort services for Steamboat.
“Jim’s track record is one of achievement, and his broad background and strong skill set will have a substantial and immediate impact for both employees and guests in this new role,” said Sky Foulkes, chief operating officer for Intrawest. “He will bring out the best at each resort while staying true to its brand and further establishing culinary excellence as a core brand value across Intrawest.”
In his new leadership role, Snyder will work with resort teams from Blue Mountain, Stratton, Snowshoe, Tremblant and Winter Park to elevate all aspects of Food & Beverage operations by sharing best practices, knowledge and experience across Intrawest. He will have oversight in the development of menus, pricing, budgets, compliance and procurement as well as capital projects, among other responsibilities. He will report to Sky Foulkes, chief operating officer for Intrawest, and starts his new executive role effective Monday, June 1, 2015.

Since December 2011, Snyder has been responsible for all aspects of F&B operations (mountain and hotel), base area services, building maintenance, janitorial, security, parking and shuttles for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. In addition, he served as project lead in bringing the $5 million Four Points Lodge, the first new on-mountain lodge in over a decade at the Steamboat Ski Resort, to fruition and establishing it as one of the top epicurean mountain experiences. The success of Four Points has resulted in two similar facilities at Intrawest resorts including Lunch Rock at Winter Park and the recently announced $8.5 million Stratton Base Lodge renovation.
With more than 30 years of experience in the F&B industry, Snyder has held executive-level positions across the ski industry for companies including Steamboat, The Canyons and American Skiing Co. In addition to his ski experience, he has also held several management and executive roles, most notably at Good Earth Corp., a pioneering company in the area of natural foods and environmental initiatives. Snyder is a graduate of California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
