What a good idea! Let me know if I can help with ideas for the brithday party. After an embarrassingly large amount of April Champagne Powder snow - yeah, the deep, light, fluffy kind - we're now back to brilliant sunshine today befroe finishing up on Sunday the 12th. See you next year!

I know it's only March, but I am already planning for my next visit to the boat this December coming. I decided when I was there in '97 that this would be where I would spend my 40th, and so, the flights are booked, the hotel is booked, I just need to start the save for the spending money :o)

How long are you going for Mel
JennyO Comment by JennyO on December 15, 2008 at 11:10am
How's the snow, you ask? I was on the mountain yesterday morning for a mere three hours, but I was with crazy fast non-stop snow sliders, so my muscles tell me it was a much longer day! We hit nothing but steep powder runs - and they were everywhere. My favorites: Twilight - Dec 14 and the trees were filled in with no visible rocks or roots Twister - bottomless and fluffy with some early season surprise dips and drops - it was a hoot! Valley View (upper) - we made rope drop, and the descent was sooooooooooo soft! Forecast shows 50% or better chance of snow for the next five days, so we'll be ready for you Mel. Safe travels!

We have a case Boo, as unlike Sian and Nige we are kept in limbo for for what seems an eternity, but our time will come.

skipompey... Do you think that we should bring a class action against the Steamboat Resort for posting too many great photos, videos and reports - causing us deep emotional scarring? ;-)

More or less a wide open mountainside but it is a ton of terrain considering there was none there previously with the exception of two narrow runs. Hopefully someone else from resort can shed light on future plans but I have heard a new lift comes i…

So will this add new trails or just wide open mountainside? What lift would service the area? I do agree that Steamboat is not the best mountain for beginners so anything to help add more green runs would be a great thing!

The best time to buy your lift tickets is in June early booking is never early enough, really. But airfare wise, if you start too early you can be really gouged by the airlines. My January trip was booked in June and I've seen up to $200 per ticket…
