FOUR FREE OUTDOOR MUSICFEST CONCERTS SET FOR EARLY JANUARY
Outdoor MusicFest Free Concerts Feature Top Bands Over Four Days – All Free
More Than 10.6 Feet of Snow At Mid-Mtn and 11.8 Feet At Summit Since October 1
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-December 30, 2014-A daily dose of music will hit the stage daily as four FREE public music concerts rock the outdoor Steamboat Stage in Gondola Square at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area from Tuesday, January 6 through Friday, January 9 as part of the MusicFest at Steamboat.
“Jack Ingram always rocks the house and I expect nothing short of his high energy show again this year as he kicks off four days of free outdoor MusicFest shows,” commented Rob Perlman, senior vice president of marketing & sales for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “Add in the incredible talents of Turnpike Troubadours, Jonathan Tyler, Dirty River Boys and Bri Bagwell; and, the entire resort will be filled with magical sounds the entire week.”
This year, MusicFest will feature four free shows which will rock Gondola Square with a daily sample of high-octane music from some of the top performers in the country. The action kicks off with the Turnpike Troubadours, followed by Jack Ingram and the Beat Up Ford Band on Tuesday, Jan. 6; Jonathan Tyler on Wednesday, Jan. 7; Dirty River Boys on Thursday, Jan. 8; and Bri Bagwell on Friday, Jan. 9. All shows start around 1:00pm on the Steamboat Stage.
“The MusicFest at Steamboat combines a cross of musicians and musical styles that incorporates country, rock and blues in a beautiful Rocky Mountain setting,” said John Dickson, president of Dickson Productions. “The free concerts are a fantastic way for fans to share great music with their favorite performers, who genuinely love playing music and having a great time in Steamboat.”
The free shows are part of the sold-out MusicFest at Steamboat event taking place this week at Steamboat-Ski Town, U.S.A.® The largest group ski trip of its kind in the nation, MusicFest brings the finest Texas and Americana music to the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This marks the 30th year that Dickson Productions has been organizing first-class group ski travel to Steamboat, complete with a jam-packed schedule of music activities and events.
MusicFest at Steamboat–the ONLY festival that brings the finest Texas and Americana music to the snow swept Colorado Rockies for a full week of sport and song. Fifty bands will perform more than 100 hours of live genuine music over the six-day festival in the heart of the Rocky Mountains featuring four days of free après-ski concerts, evening concerts and special engagements throughout the week including more than 60 live performances from an increasingly diverse line up of artists with styles ranging from country to rock, blues to bluegrass, folk and western swing, and everything in between.
A series of storms blew through Steamboat over the past 17 days bringing 55 inches (4.5 feet) of fresh Champagne Powder® snow at mid-mountain and 61.5 inches (5.1 feet) at the summit. Since December 1, snow has fallen 19 out of 30 days (61%) with 7 of those days recording four or more inches of powder. So far this season, Steamboat has been blanketed by 127.75 inches (10.6 feet) at mid-mountain and 141.5 inches (11.8 feet) at the summit.
