What a FUN afternoon we had! After a morning of dumping snow the sun broke free of the clouds and we headed out to saddleback ranch to spend our last afternoon going tubing. We skipped the snowmobile tour this time but my son had a BLAST on the mini snowmobiles. We even got my mom to take a few runs down the hill on the tube. My 1 year old was less than amused. She loved the ride up the lift and was all giggles until she got a facefull of snow spray and that was the end of her. Their warming hut is spotless and seems to be all but brand new. Can't say enough about how much fun we had and what a great deal this was!

Glad to hear that. I am planning a trip there when the Daughter and Grand Kids come out in March.

Thanks for the report.

Cheers

How do the mini-snowmobiles work... I hear 5 or older? My daugher will be turning 5 in a couple weeks, we'll be there March 28th. We are visiting with one other couple. Would you recommend snowmobile tour with daugher riding behind someone.... or go for sleighride?

Kim we ended up not doing a "Big" snomobile tour since it was very very snowy with low visibilty while we were there. The mini snowmobiles were the perfect size for my 5 year old and he handled them with no problems. There is a circle path/track and he rode 4 happy laps around and was thrilled to do it by himself. At some point we'll try the sleigh ride but our daughter is only 1 so we passed on that this year.

If my daughter takes a mini snowmobile ride, can parents go along, or is it restricted to all kids? Also, can someone better describe the path/track, i.e., do they travel out of site?

Thanks in advance.

it's just a circle path in the snow but they are never out of site. We simply watched since the mini snowmobiles have a weight limit. My son rode 4 laps and was very happy, easily made the circle with no trouble. He was also the only one on it that day. We were very pleased with that option as it satisfied his desire to snowmobile without having to do the 2 hour ride and he could drive this himself. The path is just an oval track in the snow. My husband went up to the top, it has a slight grade at one end, and the rest of us watched from the bottom but even that ended up being unnecessary.

That will probably be perfect for her. Appreciate the response! :-)
