Where's all the posts about all the snow you just got!! Maybe too busy skiing and snowboarding!??
We are flying in on Saturday!
Question to locals about next weeks forecast. Looks like off and on precipitation... steamboats forecast shows as snow... weather.com shows as rain/snow... what's the thought for likely weather next week?

I just got off the mountain and Ooh-La-La was it good! I didn't even go chasing powder in the trees because the groomers were blistfully flat and ligthning fast and I just couldn't leave the speed after having to push around heavy slush the last 2 weeks. This last round of powder has covered the "slushed out ice layer" very nicely. Hopefully the temps will stay low enough to keep this base from slushing out too fast.
The snow is fantastic right now. Not as light as we usually get, the high winds yesterday blew it around a bit, and it's creamy feeling, but it's a huge step up from what we had last week.
Make sure and take it easy in the trees, the mix of old rotten snow and new thick snow doesn't make for the most predictable skiing and riding, and there's been quite a few injuries in the last two days.
As for next week, well forecasts are notoriously inaccurate in Steamboat, so it's hard to know, but it does look like there's another storm right on the tail of this one, and with any luck it will hit us with another nice dump.
Yeah right George, It was hard, hard, hard and the powder or snow that was on top was a ski/board stopping wrist breaking crappolla. Stay home is what I would say. I have a tweeked shoulder to prove it. This comming from a lifty whom can ski just fi…
Well, I don't meet one of your criteria for skiing together, but this group is often used to organize meetings among forum members who are in town at the same time, and would otherwise only know each other from postings. These are often apres-ski me…
I'm not sure how to describe this morning's conditions for you. 'Changeable' is probably the best term.
On the one hand it is gorgesouly sunny, there is no wind, it's uncrowded, there are some great stretches of groom, and even some spots where th…

I am coming Easter week with my speed demon sons and husband. I am looking for other women to ski with who don't have to be the first down the mountain. I am a solid blue skier and can do some blacks depending on the conditions. Anyone else going …
A place for members to organize dates, times, places to meet each other once they are in Steamboat. Organize this group by using your dates as the Discussion Title. You can also add an Event to the calendar to set up a meeting date, time and place.
Thought I'd post an update after we return. Promontory is a hike to the hill but we found we could carry our skis slightly up hill and get to the access run down to the gondola/Christy Peak Express. After a bit of searching, we also found a way to s…
