with times being hard and everyone feeling the pinch one way or another we thought perhaps those that go that little bit further with the service they offer should get a mention, you'll get the idea from our first nomination
the guys operating the burgess creek lift line on christmas day!!! they had prepared a song sheet and were 'singing' christmas songs while tending the lift, well done fellas it was just great, thats the kind of service that deserves a mention here.
perhaps if any of you know who they were you could mention their mention on here ..to both them and the bosses!
got any more?
I'd also nominate Fred and the folks that work at the Yurt (I wish I could remember all the names). I demoed skis for several days and these guys and gals are great. Great suggestions and great service, plus just really friendly. I was also impressed with how they treated non-customers. Several times when exchanging skis, people would walk in asking to use a screwdriver or for some advice on minor equipments issue and the Yurt employees always went out of their way to be helpful to everyone.
OK- I have a good one. My husband won't be thrilled with this post but it is worth sharing. He was in charge of collecting the kids at the end of the day - he was riding, they were finishing their lessons. He walks in the door and his face dropped. I said "what's the matter?" He said "you'll never believe what I just did." I said "Oh really, try me." He says he leaned his board and the kids skis up against his car as everyone was getting inside. And then.....drove off! I could believe it. Anyway, since we live about 35 minutes from the resort we were a little concerned. I immediately called Security at the resort. Mike answered the phone and said he would go right over to take a look. Sure enough he called about 15 minutes later and said he found the goods and put them in lost and found for us to pick up next time we were in town. All with a smile I could feel over the phone. However, how could you not smile at that story. My husband seems to be the only one who can't find the humor. :-) So a big giant thanks to the folks in security and especially to Mike. And also to the community and visitors for not swiping our gear. Gotta love Steamboat!
hi guys and gals just wanted to pop in before the summer and say thanks for keeping us informed and entertained for the past few months, i dare say we wont be popping on for a while now more than the very occasional look to see whats happening , so cheers to the staff and site guests of steamboat springs .
If you are 50+ you could join up with the free Over the Hill Gang ski along program. They ski blues and groomed blacks and if their are some who want to handle some bumps and trees, you can do that as well. The Gang meets near the Chuck Wagon in Gon…
Hey Andrew,
Thank you for the tip, in the right direction. Most of the time on family ski vacations, without my ski buddies on the scene I always end up skiing alone, which means I ski very lazy at times.....I have always loved skiing with a pack,so…
Hey Laura,
Thank you for the real world advice on kids with poles......The more i think about it, you are 100% correct about their stance being hard to fix, after picking up bad pole habits. The more I think about it,the only time I saw some kids the…
Thanks so much for your interest in our products. The mens club program was designed with the all conditions all terrain idea in mind and in my experience they tend to ski quite a bit off piste. I think a better way for you to go if you want to go o…
What a wonderful time in Steamboat: the conditions last week may not have been up to Steamboat standards, but they were awesome to me:
I haven't skied in at least 5 years, 7 years since I was last at the boat:
Day 1...nice groom runs to get my leg…
Matt does rock (and Dave does too). My 4 year old was doing bumps, blue blacks, and glades after these 2 great instructors ran him and a couple of other rowdy boys all over the mountain. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Not many people realize that very often March can be one of our biggest snow months of the season. I believe that today's conditions were no exception! As I approached the Gondola to make my way up the mountain, the first thing I noticed was the lay…
