While the crowd is large the groomers have done a great job keeping the whole mountain in great shape. In the past the grooming report was always posted on the wall at the top of the gondy. This season I have yet to see it. I know it is handed out at various places, but it would also be helpful to have it posted. Also, it would save printing and paper costs and help to keep Steamboat green.
Took your suggestion and wanted to let you know our Lift Dept has submitted a work request for a new and improved grooming report board for the top of the gondola. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Hey Marlene--I guess that work order is at the bottom of the pile. Every time I get off the gondy I am in the habit of checking the report on the wall where it used to be and it hasn't yet appeared. I know this is just a little thing, but the little things add up over time. Happy turns to you.
They have been keeping a pile of grooming reports at the desk at the top of the Gondy right as you exit the car. Got one a couple of days ago but they were out today. Don't know if this is a standard proceedure of if the lifties pick up a pile to take up.
I have stopped and looked at the report at the desk, but it is much more convenient to just look at it posted on the wall where they used to have it. Oh well, not a big deal.
After grabbing my skis as I got off the gondy the other day I turned to head out and what to my surprise the grooming report was posted on the wall by the operator's desk. A quick look to see what black runs had been groomed the night before and I was on my way. Many thanks to Marlene and the lift crew for getting it done. Hopefully, others will appreciate the little things that the employees on the mountain do to make our experience more enjoyable. On that note, maybe we should add a "Thank You" section to the forum so we can say our thanks to those that go above and beyond. Lifties, patrol, ambassadors, ticket checkers, etc. all do little things each day that should be recognized by us.
Hey papafu - love your post and your suggestion. I just created a new category called This One's For You...(Thank You Forum). I recall a few other postings that belong in this category - I will dig them up and put them in this section so we can have fun patting ourselves on the back! Thanks again and keep the great suggestions coming!
If you are 50+ you could join up with the free Over the Hill Gang ski along program. They ski blues and groomed blacks and if their are some who want to handle some bumps and trees, you can do that as well. The Gang meets near the Chuck Wagon in Gon…
Hey Andrew,

Hey Laura,

Thanks so much for your interest in our products. The mens club program was designed with the all conditions all terrain idea in mind and in my experience they tend to ski quite a bit off piste. I think a better way for you to go if you want to go o…
What a wonderful time in Steamboat: the conditions last week may not have been up to Steamboat standards, but they were awesome to me:
I haven't skied in at least 5 years, 7 years since I was last at the boat:
Day 1...nice groom runs to get my leg…
Matt does rock (and Dave does too). My 4 year old was doing bumps, blue blacks, and glades after these 2 great instructors ran him and a couple of other rowdy boys all over the mountain. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Not many people realize that very often March can be one of our biggest snow months of the season. I believe that today's conditions were no exception! As I approached the Gondola to make my way up the mountain, the first thing I noticed was the lay…
