This was discussed either earlier this year, or last year. I believe this is on hold for the economy, and I don't recall which one comes first. The talk was of one of these two: A lift from near the top of current Pony Express to top of Christmas Tree (to eliminate the current hike) or a lift in the next valley to the north. If you look at trail maps from several years ago (before Pony Express opened, and for a year or two after), you will see a dashed line for "future expansion" that included a larger area than shows on the current trail maps.
Perhaps Kent or James will chime in with more details
There is a second lift that was permitted for the Pioneer Ridge area a few years back. It is north and parallel to the Pony Express lift. It would be a little longer starting a little lower and running a bit higher. It would open up the terrain between the existing runs off Pony Express and the Fish Creek canyon. No other new lifts have gone through the permitting process that I know of. However, I understand a few of the older lifts may be replaced. I also heard that the Bar U-E lift may be removed. That would be really too bad.
i think we are going to the Sheraton for the Christmas buffet. Others have suggested the Ore House, Cafe Diva alos. Yes book ahead of time. thats what i will be doing next week.
Usually kids don't want to wear the hood thing, but carry it in your pocket just in case. If it's really cold once you get on there on the slopes, I'll bet you big money that'll change.
