There is a liquor store in the shopping center off of Pine Grove road where the wal-mart is. There is a wal-mart on one end and I believe a Sun Fresh market on the other end. the liquor store is next to the market in the shopping center. It's not in the base village but you don"t have to go into town either. Pine grove road is the light just before 40 which takes you into town.

Called Central Park Liquor in the Central Park Plaza. Its on the Free Bus line. Lots of other places around town as well.

make sure you have id with you as they will check regarding age irrespective if you are a teen or old father time... made me feel so young again ..lol

I generally take my hat off and show my grey bald head. It usually suffices.

Actually universal ID check is standard practice these days as the local law enforcement runs periodic sting operations with underage kids as purchasers.

Isn't the little market under La Montana still there or was that whole commercial strip done away with to make room for the circle? That store had a great selection of wine.

Yes it is still there! Its only a few hundred yards from the Gondola.

Market on the Mountain. Good booze, and pick up some fresh pastries while you are there

Go to Central Park, they have better prices and selection than everyone else. It's not even a question where to go

I believe someone spoke (well, actually typed) earlier that in CO, the beer is '3.2' beer - i.e., less bank for your buck than other state's beers. So my stupid question here is, would that also be true for all beers bought in CO, or just Coors, etc. that are brewed in CO. If true, then I would stick to something like Heinekin or similar to get more 'bounce to the ounce', right?

I believe the 3.2 (lesser alcohol content) beer is only sold in the grocery stores (Safeway, City Market). You get the real stuff if you purchase at liquor stores.

You are correct Marlene. If you buy in Grocery stores, 3.2
If I see someone purchasing their during ski season, I try to give them a heads up.

Thought I'd post an update after we return. Promontory is a hike to the hill but we found we could carry our skis slightly up hill and get to the access run down to the gondola/Christy Peak Express. After a bit of searching, we also found a way to s…
