Is there anyway to just have a "snowboard tips" section and maybe a "ski tips" section or something similar? I had some awesome people help me out last year when I was leaning towards learning to snowboard. I was given TONS of advice, and after apply it the first day, it made a huge difference to my introduction to snowboarding....especially after watching my classmates. I was the only one in class with wrist guards, which everyone involved in the threads I made/read HIGHLY advised me to purchase before I strap onto a snowboard. Also, many mentioned taking a day lesson...which I did take a class (Matt was my instructor) and my week went awesome...even went down a couple blacks and hit the terrain park. Anyway, without the encouragement and feeling like I was hitting the slopes 100% prepared (due to the people on here), I probably would have been much more hesitant about converting.... Which we will be out there next weekend and I will be sticking with the board!! Thanks again!!!

I agree. to make this an all inclusive website, it'd be nice to have a 'tips and tricks' page for those to give, well, 'tips and tricks' not only on what they've learned over the years on the science of skiing/snowboarding, but also, tips and tricks for the steamboat mountain itself. I have picked up many myself by being forward and asking, for example, best runs to start the day to avoid the crowds etc, but it'd be nice to see an acutal page devoted to these kinds of topics.........oh, and by the way..........my steelers will be in and win the super bowl.......bank it.
How about a new Discussion Forum called "The Art & Science of Skiing & Riding" ? Does that cover the tips theme plus associated content broadly enough?
Regarding tips/tricks for the time of day, lifts, runs, that seems to fit well into the General Mountain discussion.
Maybe... But I think if we could seperate the two, to make it easier for current and future memebers to find that specific forum for their questions it would be easier. I have seen many forums that have sections that certain members know more about and therefore can spread that knowledge of a specific subject (i.e. snowboarding). I think it makes it easier on the creator/subscriber to learn from the forum and get the answers they are looking for more quickly. I'm not exactly a website guru, so I honestly don't know what is involved in making this happen....just thought I'd throw it out there!
Thought I'd post an update after we return. Promontory is a hike to the hill but we found we could carry our skis slightly up hill and get to the access run down to the gondola/Christy Peak Express. After a bit of searching, we also found a way to s…
