Hi, 3 Dads with boys here, will be arriving in Denver on the 13th, where we'll overnight before driving up to Steamboat early next morning.
Having been to CO before, I just know we'll all be awake stupidly early due to time diff etc, so our plan is to drive up as soon as we're all ready, which could be 5/6am !
We've hired a Ford Expedition or similar, quite a beast by our standards, but just wondered if anyone has any advice for us, as we havent driven over in CO before, and I appreciate mountain driving needs care at the bet of times, let alone 6am :-)
Assuming no snow that night, how well do the roads stay clear, or do they ice up badly overnight regardless ?
If it snows hard, how well do they clear them ?
Any tips/advice gratefully read.
Thx.
