Crowds over Spring Break
Do you think ski school will be considerably less crowded the week of March 8th than the week of March 15th? What about the mountain in general? We are currently planning on skiing Mar 14-18 (Sun to Wed) but if it would be considerably less crowded I could switch it to Mar 12-15 (Fri to Mon). I have 2 children who will be in lessons and I was also wondering about the crowdes at the gondala.

Tell you the truth, I never notice any real difference on the Mountain at any time except toward the end of the season (April to the last day when it gets kind of lonely) or when NASTAR Finals are being run. This year they will be at Winter Park so that's not a problem.
As Steamboat is past the Summit County locations, Breck, Copper, etc, the hoards from Denver usually don't make it up for a short/long week.
That said, I would choose the Sun to Wed time to avoid any week end "crowd", such as it is. Saturday can have few more people with those leaving getting in a few last runs and those arriving getting their first. ;)

Good question. In the next few weeks bookings start to indicate the busy weeks. Check back again mid November for and I'll be happy to share what I learn.

i think we are going to the Sheraton for the Christmas buffet. Others have suggested the Ore House, Cafe Diva alos. Yes book ahead of time. thats what i will be doing next week.
Usually kids don't want to wear the hood thing, but carry it in your pocket just in case. If it's really cold once you get on there on the slopes, I'll bet you big money that'll change.
Hard to predict of course but history is on your side. Be glad you didn't plan a trip around opening day at Vail today. They've got only one run open.
Temps have been great for snowmaking and we definitely have more snow this year than we had last year. I wouldn't worry, we tend to get dumped on in December.
