Looking for a condo for next Feb. Doesnt have to be ski in ski out but some what close. Would like if it had heated pool and hot tub. Seen something on the Rockies, is this a decent place? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THANKS Dave

One of the properties that is near Gondola Square and meets all of your requirements is The Steamboat Grand. They also have a ski and boot storage area near the Gondy for guests and owners.

I also have a place I stay in for part of the season at the Rockies and it is on the free city bus line. Units are individually owned so decor and condition can vary. The pool is good size but the hot tubs are rather small.

Cheers

The Lodge or the Phoenix would also fit your requirements.

If you are looking for ski-in/ski-out Steamboat Lodging Properties has both a one bedroom and two bedroom condo at Storm Meadows Club B. The complex also has a pool, hot tub and work-out room along with a shuttle to the base.

The Lodge is very convenient. Not technically ski in-ski out, but literally across the street from the gondola. Quite walkable, but The Lodge also runs a continuous shuttle. Has heated pool (though certainly not hot - the kids go in while I watch). Several heated hot tubs, including one indoors. You are next door to a small, but well-stocked grocery, which beats hauling back from Safeway or City Market in town. After renting there for many years, we finally bought a unit. As condos turn over owners, management has been encouraging and facilitating renovations, so many units are quite nice. Even the less recently renovated ones are fine...the decor may be dated, but they are very well maintained. Look into it, and enjoy!

The Phoenix is very convient, just a short walk and then ski down to Gondi, really close to Mountain store, & Terry Sports and has heated pool and hot tubs. Shuttle bus & on city bus line.

We have a place at The Lodge at Steamboat and really love it there. The management (Steamboat Resorts) is top notch and everyone is very nice that works there too. There is a shuttle that runs all the time so you don't have to hike to the hill. It's actually about 200 yards from the base and walkable if you wanted to do that (which we do sometimes without skis!) so you could get in more exercise if you really wanted too.

There is a pool that is heated to 93 degrees year round; 4 outdoor hot tubs and 1 indoor hot tub. There is a business center and a place to store your skis overnight so you don't have to haul them up to your unit. They serve donuts in the morning and cookies in the afternoon and they have a business center where you can use their computers if you don't want to bring yours from home. There is wireless internet in the units as well.

It's a wonderful location and I think you would enjoy staying at The Lodge.

There are pools (open in the ski season) at Evergreens, Waterstone.

My favorite is Trappeurs. It's close enough to walk in your street clothes, but in your ski gear. For ski days, we take the private shuttle. It has nice, clean and well stocked rooms, a friendly community room with at least one complimentary meet and greet cocktail hours per week, an indoor/outdoor pool and enough hot tubs to always find a spot. A nice location, room and value.

Thought I'd post an update after we return. Promontory is a hike to the hill but we found we could carry our skis slightly up hill and get to the access run down to the gondola/Christy Peak Express. After a bit of searching, we also found a way to s…
