Based on the snow so far, looks like another year last last year. It needs to stop ~15th of Jan so I can get there over Rabbit Ears and then it can resume for the rest of the season. Right now at home its ice, sleet, rain, snow all in one day.

Both of you are intentionally putting a curse on Jan 15th and, Trudy...a whole week? Ouch.
Regarding the drive: I drive over Rabbit Ears in heavy snow conditions about 20 times per year. Don't sweat it, just go slow. If the pass is closed, then Gore Pass is almost always open.
Trudy, we need to get you some powder lessons and skis. Even with the powder this year, the groomer have been great.
No worries. I swung a chicken over my head, spit three times then threw some salt over my left shoulder after I typed that. Jan. 15 should be okay. Perhaps one or two snowy nights could be arranged. Must go modify my moves.
NOt really worried about the drive. I drive it several times a year also. Just a pain following a plow/tanker truck/flat lander/??/ whatever when I first arrive for the season and its either snowing or worse.
Makes for some impatience on my part but not enough to do something stupid on the pass. Only a few days till departure.
My worst trip was coming back from a short Vail visit after skiing with some friends and hit a cow elk on the way back via 131.
Ok. I've just completed the "slight dusting with sunshine peaking through one or maybe two clouds" dance. I ski with an instructor most days. I just don't have near as much fun in the fluff even when I switch out the skis. But you're right. I'll try to be a better student.
